This picture is dedicated to because he was the only one watching for pageview 2000. 2000 officially passed and nobody won. Also, my good friend has been sick lately. Hope you are feeling better!

Common name: Glalie or Snorunt
Scientific name: Endothermius orbicus
Height: adult: 4-7ft juvenile: 1-2.5ft
Weight: adult: 400-650lbs juvenile: 10-15lbs
Diet: rocks, ice, metal, and various animals, especially pikachus and annoying trainers with squeaky voices and bad hair
Call: low growling sounds

Snorunts are the juvenile form of Glalies. They are born considerably smaller and lighter than their parents. After a few years, the snorunt consumes large amounts of snow, ice, dirt, rocks and metal. It then undergoes metamorphosis and becomes a glalie. This process is called "evolution" by pokemon trainers.

Glalies can be highly territorial and will attack skiers and snowboarders who venture too close to their icy homes. They can use a pair of specialized fangs on the roof of their mouth to create an endothermic reaction that absorbs the heat out of the surrounding area and freezes the water vapor in the air. This is called an ice beam. Glalies can also direct this reaction to a large area, affecting a wider range. This attack is called "Blizzard". Some glalies even develope their reactions so well that it can freeze an opponent solid instantly. This is a dangerous move known as "Sheer Cold". Besides their tremendous endothermic abilities, Glalies also have powerful jaws and can perform the move known as Crunch. Their horns are very strong and are used in the Headbutt attack.

Glalies need to stay cold, for their blood has a very low boiling point. They accomplish this by producing constant endothermic reactions and living in cold environments. If they venture into warm climates, Glalies upregulate their reactions to keep their bodies cold.

I've always liked Snorunt and Glalie. Snorunt especially; they look like little mages to me. :B

with appologies to it being an ice pokémon, i've always thought this evolution was one of the most explosive, in terms of how dramatic the change is once it evolves.
That's about the most detailed description of well.. just about any pokémon i've ever seen that didn't seem like total b.s. It's a pity the pokédex writers are clearly looking to enlighten five year olds on the 'animal kingdom', because this would certainly be a notworth entry (aside from the whole 'eating pikachu' thing, that might scare small children, heheheh)
I love this drawing sooo much :D
It looks like they're both trying to sleep, but glalie is keeping a sharp eye out so no one bothers snorunt while it lays in the snow. I imaine that'd be like sleeping on a patch of grass on a sunny day for other species out there. As always, the trees look very nice, but the little tree in the corner is the icing on the cake. Reminds me of happy childhood moments. All around, great job. :)
The wasabi is pleased.

The snorunt is the Glalie's baby. One of the things that disappointed me about pokemon is the fact that there is basically no biology for the pokemon. All we ever seem to get is about one sentence. Sometimes, I come up with the biology for my favorites.

Can you do one on Squirtle and it's evolved forms Wortortle and Blastoise please? They're my favorite group of pokemon, and I'd be happy if I could see a detailed explanation of their biology!

I always like to see more in-depth information about the biology and behavoir of Pokemon, especially when it happens to be for one of my favorite Pokemon species. ^^ And I love the serene scene presented by the picture--the sleeping child and the watchful parent. So adorable. ^^

Thanks! I did references for my own creatures, so I did a few for pokemon, too.
